Last I looked, I was an adult

A lot of annoying stuff has occurred in the past 24 hours; annoying enough where I need to write about it instead of laying the smack down on multiple people.

Lets start:

Incident 1
Email from D-Bag#1 in the Finance Department (small background: I don’t work in or for the Finance department). This email is about an issue that this dept has encountered with the (not so) new system (here on out referred to as “NewSW”). I quote, “As far as the IS process you outlined below, we will need Shaz to prioritize this”.

Let me be quite clear…..I do not work for you. I do not take my priorities from you. If you need my help with something, you will ask me in a way that does not make you seem like a complete JackHole. “Go back to your hole, mole.”

Incident 2
Email from D-Bag#2 in the Purchasing Department (I don’t work in or for Purchasing). This email was a response from the above mentioned email stream. I quote, “It appears that every time NewSW is brought down for whatever .., when it is brought back up several things don't work the same as they used to - especially things that were previously fixed get re-broken. We have a business to run, and D-Bag#1 doesn't have the time luxury to theorize on IT probable causes. --- I believe many people answered back that they "did not touch it" -- I believe you have that answer now, unless it was done at a level not being copied on these e-mails. Someone needs to reverse it and get it working again, we do not have the skills or time resources in A/P or Procurement.”

This is a perfect example of someone chiming in on a subject they KNOW NOTHING ABOUT. This email went to the WORLD. Here is what D-Bag#2 is actually saying, “No one is owning up to breaking NewSW. IT (Information Technology) should just know how to fix it without knowing how it got broken. We have no idea what we are doing so I will just jump up and down and wave my arms around to try to deflect accountability.”

D-Bag#1 and D-Bag#2 may as well be twins. They have the same super annoying personality! Arrrgggghhhhhhhh!

Incident 3
Pilates class. This is my favorite exercise class with my favorite instructor. She has been on maternity leave for about 5 to 6 months so I have missed her! I have tried other Pilates classes and I just did not like the instructor….anyway….she is back and I am so excited!

I like to be very focused in Pilates so, because I get distracted very easily, I usually situate myself either right up front next to a wall or all the way in the back next to a wall. Class had begun…we were moving along…a newbie walks in….and decides to sit next me (between me and the wall). When I chose my spot, I make sure there isn’t enough space for a reasonable person to sit next to me (notice I said “reasonable”?). This woman’s mat was literally touching mine.

I was immediately pissed.
First, there were other open spots.
Second, personal space, lady! Personal Space!
To top it off, she had never taken Pilates for, she was grunting and groaning, and she smelled of perfume and dirty hair.

This woman didn’t even care that she was bumping into me with some of the moves. I ended up moving my mat. Arrgggghhhh!!! Annoying!!!!

Incident 4
“Soon to be ex-Co-worker” (lets call this person Polar…..as in Bi-Polar…..) decided he wanted to mentor me today.
Polar: You know, I know BAMF tells you everything that I tell him. I don’t think that is right.
Shaz: What makes you say that Polar?
Polar: I just hope you learn from this experience. There is too much said in the Gossip Grotto.
Shaz: ....(walks away shaking head)....

Really Jackass, really?!?!?! BTW, I was not the only one counseled by Polar on the subject. Polar should write a book, “How to not make friends, only alienate them.”

Several other little incidents occurred….all enough for me to say, “What the F is going on here?!?!?”

Last I looked, I was a 38 year old career-oriented woman respected (and maybe a little feared?) by her peers. The above incidents would make it seem like I need a full time life coach.

I really should start to drink or smoke or take Nyquil….something to dull the pain.
