Movies and Music

It is award show season! I love it!

G and I watch "Inglorious Basterds" on Saturday night. This movie is up for a multitude of awards. We were really excited to see it! I love Quentin Tarantino! and then..... we watched it.

This movie DOES NOT live up to the hype. During the very first scene of the movie, I turned to G and said "Is this going to go anywhere?". The first scene was about 5 minutes too long. That was just the beginning. I did not get it, at all. The only saving grace (truly, the ONLY good thing about this movie) was the actor who played Col. Hans Landa (Christoph Waltz)...genius. But....Tarantino for best director....really?!?!?!? Very, very disappointed in this movie.

I did not feel the same about nominated "Up in the Air". We saw this movie in the theater on Sunday. Great, great movie. I loved the story and the characters. I will certainly be rooting for this movie at the Oscars. George Clooney was great. It was such an interesting story.

Let's move on to music......Grammy's.
I did watch the Grammy's. I HATE Lady Gaga. I have from the beginning. The whole stage show and the costumes, the dumb (and I mean DUMB) songs (Poker Face....REALLY?!?!?!?). She was the opening act. Then.....she sang with Elton John. You know what? She is an AMAZING voice. Why is she covering up the voice with all that other nonsense? It is distracting. I still will not buy her albums but at least she is not a Britney Spears (to me).

Love Beyonce.

Taylor Swift....I get it, ok? She is a great songwriter. Her songs are catchy. She is super cute and down to earth. Her voice? People....her voice sucks. Yes, I said it. Anytime I have seen her perform on TV, her voice is terrible! It is flat and off key. Tell me again how she is number 1?

One of my favs won a couple of Grammy's: Kings of Leon! Love them! I have played their music so much that G has asked me not to play any of their songs in his presence. He is completely sick of them.

I am also loving the band Parachute. (They were not up for a Grammy but I wanted to mention them anyway.)

BTW: I am over Blippy. Completely bored with it.
