Lies! All Lies!

Have you seen the new Lowes commercial? It is the one where the woman has her "to-do" list and she wants to redo her bathroom. So, she goes to Lowes and guess what? "You can redo the bathroom in a weekend!".

What?!?!

That is a Mother-Lovin LIE! One weekend? Yeah Right!

G and I took this whole week off to complete both bathrooms. Two bathrooms in one week. Completely do-able. Right? WRONG!

It took 4 days (4 FREAKIN days!) to patch the big bathroom. Why did it take 4 days you ask? Well, the builders decided to take some major shortcuts drywalling/taping the corners. G wanted to fix it. Can of worms? Let me open that for you.

Ok, so it is fixed. Now.....we just finished the first coat of paint in the little bathroom. It needs a second coat HOWEVER it needs to dry for 8 hours.

I am very, very frustrated. G has had to do most of the work because:
a. The rooms are small
b. I do not know how to spackle and tape as well as he (and P.S. he is a perfectionist when it comes to this stuff. I certainly do not blame him for that. I would rather it gets done the way he wants it so I don't have to hear about it for the rest of my life.)

So what have I done? I have made lunch and dinner. I have cleaned up after said meals. I have kept the house clean, the laundry done, and the cats entertained. I have tried to keep us on track. To be perfectly frank, I feel utterly useless. :(

I think we (when I say we, I really mean mostly G and a little me) have worked diligently. No TV, no reading, no leisure until the daylight is gone. I actually feel bad for G....I keep asking "What's next?" "What can I do?". Granted...he hasn't complained or told me to go away.

So....our work will continue into the next week.
