Ok….he died. It was an untimely death. Sad for his family and his children. Yes, he was a Pop icon. was….in the 80’s and 90’s.
Do people not remember the whole child molestation scandal and trial? How about dangling “Blanket” off the balcony? What about his move to Bahrain, essentially living in exile? If he had not tragically passed, would we be touting his heroness? (yeah….I just made that word up) I really do not think so.
Come on people! He was a great singer. He was a great dancer. That is it.
When I hear things like: “Michael Jackson is a National Hero”, I just want to smack someone. Since when is an accused child molester a hero?
My favorite quote is from the ever-wrong “loves the spotlight” Al Sharpton. This genius has the nerve to say "Michael Jackson made culture accept a person of color way before Tiger Woods way before ,Oprah Winfrey, way before Barack Obama...no controversy will erase the historic impact"
Really? Since when has Michael Jackson been seen as a leader in Race relations?
Arrrrgh! I am tired of hearing about it.
Let Michael rest in peace. Let his children have peace and privacy. Stop the madness.

Yes, I don't see why Al Sharpton doesn't remember that Michael spent a lot of time and money bleaching his skin and having plastic surgery to change his features. He didn't seem to be seeking the role of black icon to me. Plus now it seems that at least the two older children may have a white father as well as a white mother.
National Hero is stretching it a bit far and yes it's clear that he was a very troubled man. However, he did break a lot of racial barriers in the music industry. And not just in this country. As a friend put it..."Appreciate his genius. Acknowledge his madness."
